KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The Supreme Court (SC) has asked Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of Dahal-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to present himself or his representatives in the court with a written response on the contempt of court case filed against him.
A single bench of Justice Purushottam Bhandari ordered Dahal to present himself or his representatives in the court with a written response on the contempt of court case within 15 days starting Wednesday.
Earlier, the apex court had ordered Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former chief justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi, Anup Raj Sharma, Kalyan Shrestha and Susila Karki to present themselves with a written response on similar cases filed against them.
Earlier on February 17, a case of contempt of court was filed against Dahal for his remarks on the case involving dissolution of the parliament that was subjudice in the apex court.
