SC directs not to construct roads in Chitwan national park

KATHMANDU, Jan. 11: The Supreme Court (SC) directed stay order in the name of the government for the time being not to construct the roads inside the Chitwan National Park saying it could affect bio-diversity.



The single bench of Judge at SC Prakash Wasti directed the so cause order in the name of defendants not sign any agreement and operate any projects of road construction inside the national park area.



Advocators of Consumers´ Rights Protection Forum, Ram Chandra Simkhada, Achyutraj Budhathoki, Dhananjaya Khanal, Jagannath Mishra and Chitwan secretary of the forum Shyam Bahadur Kandel filed the petition.
