KATHMANDU, July 11: The government has decided to provide Rs one million to the family of Saroj Narayan Singh who was shot dead by the police during the agitating crowd in the course of dispersing them.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology and government spokesperson Gokul Prasad Baskota informed the decision made by the government during a regular press meet on Thursday. Likewise, the government has decided to bear all the medical expenses of the injured during the incident.
Amit Raya, 11, a resident of Ishworpur Municipality was drowned in the sandpit near Banke River. A clash ensued between the cadres of the ruling Nepal Communist Party and those of Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal while demanding compensation to the victim’s family of the child. Saroj Singh succumbed to the head injuries during the clash.
