KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd. has brought back the all new Hyundai Santro cars in the Nepali market, by launching four variants of the once popular model, in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Speaking to Republica, Awashis Ojha, Head-Marketing & Communication of Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., said: “We are hoping for a very good sales number and looking to make the newly launched model a segment leaders in the Nepali market.”
The company said the new model would pose a serious competition to the Maruti Suzuki's Celerio – a major contender in the segment – by targeting first-time car buyers of the age group 28-40 years.

"The market segment is dominated by Celerio at the moment, and we are looking to change the scenario. The company is also further bolstered by the legacy of Santro.
We are all aware that the previous models of Santro had high resale value in the Nepali market," Ojha said.
The four variants include: Santro Magna (base model, starting at Rs 2.496 million), Santro Magna AMT (automated manual transmission, priced at Rs 2.856 million), Santro Sports (priced at Rs 2.696 million), and Santro Asta (priced at Rs 2.996 million). The available colors are: typhoon silver, polar white, stardust, marina blue, fiery red and the new imperial beige.
The company has speculated Santro Sports to be the most popular variant in the Nepali market.
The new model comes with 1.1 liter petrol engine with four cylinders, rear AC vents, ECO Coating Technology, 235 liters of booth space, rear parking camera, speed sensing auto door lock, and 17.64 cm Audio Video Platform that can run Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The car also comes with safety features such as two front airbags and anti lock braking system (anti skid braking system that prevents the wheels from locking up during braking).
