KANCHANPUR, Oct 13: Jungle safari has been resumed in Shuklaphanta National Park. The park administration has opened a jungle safari for tourists in Shuklaphanta from Monday.
Jungle safari for visitors to the park was closed following the onset of the monsoon after the road was damaged due to rain. It is now open for visitors, said the park's information officer Purushottam Wagle.
Jungle safari reopens for public in Shuklaphanta
The safari has now resumed on the designated route, with only two routes currently open to tourists. While repair work is in progress on other routes, visitors must travel to Singhapur via Majhagaun, Bathaniya Taal, Baba Taal, Dudhiya Camp, Rani Taal, and return via the same path. Additionally, the park administration has announced that the park safari is operating from Majhagaun Paliyaphanta-Hattisar Chowk to Barkola Post and back along the same route.
Shuklaphanta National Park spans an area of 305 square kilometers and is renowned for its population of swamp deer, with more than 2,323 individuals residing in the park. Visitors can also observe various species of birds around the park's lakes and rivers. According to the park office, the park is home to 56 species of reptiles, 15 species of amphibians, 88 species of fish, 111 species of butterflies, 461 species of birds, and 56 species of mammals.
