KATHMANDU, Nov 11: ‘Saatu ko Katha’, a play based on fairy tales, was staged in Bangkok Art and Culture recently.  It was presented by Lok Drishti Theatre.

Directed and conceptualized by Prem Poudel, the play serves the story of an ordinary man, Sete, who turns into a sage after losing everything. It story revolves around the story of Sete Jogi, who seemingly influences every chain of events connected to rest of the characters in the play.

The play gracefully portrays the imitation of the western society in Nepal. Although played by a limited number of characters, it beautifully depicts the scenario of western Nepal through its typical setting, powerful plot, authentic costumes and props as well as dialects from the region. The delivery of dialogues made by the chorus creatively depicts the transitions between scenes to connect the audience with the play.

Directed by Prem Poudel, the drama features some of the prominent theater artists including Prabha Kumar Neupane, Basudev Khanal, Sikahya Lamsal, and Gayatri Tripathi.
