KATHMANDU, April 9: Ruling parties are making maximum efforts to resolve the disputed issues of a new constitution by April 13, the date scheduled for the meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA).
Ruling parties—Nepali Congress and CPN-UML—have decided to make maximum efforts to reach a consensus on the disputed issues prior to next CA meeting.
The ruling parties’ meeting held at Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Thursday decided to forge consensus on the disputed issues and even discussed its modality, said CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Similarly, the meeting further decided to forward the CA process on the resolved issues and continue the dialogue process with opposition parties on the disputed issues.
Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam said that the meeting decided to take the CA process ahead from the next CA meeting and continuing the dialogue with the opposition parties.
Following the meeting, Law Minister Narahari Acharya informed that the Nepali Congress shared the issues discussed in the meeting held on Wednesday with the UCPN (Maoist).
Nepali Congress spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said that the meeting decided to hold dialogue with the opposition parties only focusing on the disputed issues. RSS
