KATHMANDU, Dec 10: A central committee member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Kaman Singh Lama, succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday night, family sources said. He was 68.
Lama breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the TU Teaching Hospital Hospital, Maharajgunj, at 11 pm on Wednesday. He was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago after he was diagnosed with the coronavirus.
Lama was also a kidney and diabetes patient. Nepal Army personnel are preparing to dispose of Lama's mortal remains.
In a condolence message, NCP Executive Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed sorrow over Lama’s demise.
Lama is survived by four daughters, a son and wife.
Lama was elected as a Member of Parliament from Kavrepalanchowk back in 1991 representing Samyukta Janamorcha. He also served as Nepal’s ambassador to South Korea from 2012 to 2016.
