KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The top leaders of the ruling parties are meeting to discuss issues including the US-aid project- Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 5 PM today in coordination with the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, said Govinda Pariyar, media coordinator of the Prime Minister. The meeting, to be held at the PM's residence in Baluwatar, will be attended by the top leaders of the ruling party Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and Rastriya Janamorcha.

It is said that the meeting of the House of Representatives to be held on February 18 will discuss issues including forming a common position to table the proposal related to MCC. Although the government had prepared to table the proposal in Wednesday's meeting of parliament, it was not tabled due to the lack of consensus among the ruling parties.
