RSP's Thapa elected from Palpa-2

According to the final count, he won by securing 26,736 votes. His nearest competitor, Himal Dutta Shrestha of the Nepali Congress, received 12,992 votes.

PALPA, March 8: Dr Madhav Bahadur Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected a member of the House of Representatives from Palpa constituency-2. 



According to the final count, he won by securing 26,736 votes. His nearest competitor, Himal Dutta Shrestha of the Nepali Congress, received 12,992 votes, said Assistant Election Officer Keshav Parajuli.

Similarly, Thakur Prasad Gaire of the CPN-UML received 10,503 votes, Som Prasad Pandey of the Nepali Communist Party received 5,288 votes, and Dev Prasad Shrestha of the National Republic Nepal received 693 votes, said  Parajuli. 


Thakur Gaire of the UML was the outgoing MP from this constituency.
