KATHMANDU, NOV 6: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced it will continue its protests in Pokhara.
Releasing a statement on Wednesday, the acting Spokesperson of RSP, Manish Jha, stated that the protest will continue.
RSP to continue protests against arrest of Chairman Lamichhane
The RSP also condemned the police for allegedly attempting to disrupt Tuesday's peaceful protest in Pokhara by using unnecessary force.
Amid the protest, the Kaski District Court on Tuesday permitted the police to obtain an additional 10-day remand extension to investigate RSP Chairman and former managing director of Gorkha Media, Rabi Lamichhane.
Police are investigating Lamichhane on charges of asset laundering, organized crime, and cooperative funds embezzlement. He was arrested from the party's central office in Kathmandu on October 18. Since then, RSP’s leaders and cadres have been staging protests against the government, stating the government is taking unfair revenge against their Chairman Lamichhane.
