According to Basanta Kumar Lama, DSP of Sindhupalchwok district, the two were arrested during regular inspection. As per the Trade and Payment Agreement (1981), Nepali traders are not allowed to pay to Tibetan traders in Nepali currency.

The payments need to be made through banks. “We will soon hand them over to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation for further investigation,” added Lama.
