POKHARA, Sept 1: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa on Tuesday said that Parmananda Jha had made a mockery of rule of law by not taking fresh oath as ordered by the Supreme Court.

“The vice president made mockery of the country´s constitutional provisions and rule of the law by flouting Supreme Court´s verdict,” said Thapa while talking to journalists upon arrival at Pokhara airport. “It is mockery of rule of law not to abide by apex court´s verdict.”

Thapa said that it is a ´political crime´ to flout SC order by a person supposed to safeguard the constitution. “It is political dishonesty as well as crime to defy apex court´s order,” he added.

Thapa said that the nation would head toward Sikkimization if the parties tried to defend the VP´s act by amending the constitution to allow him to take oath in language other than Nepali.
