Thai Embassy in Nepal announces new e-visa system for foreign applicants

Issuing a recent statement, the Thai embassy said visitors from Nepal aspiring to visit Thailand must file online applications using the e-Visa platform at www.thaievisa.go.th.

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: The Thai embassy in Kathmandu has announced a shift from in-person visa application to online system, effective from January 1, 2025.


Issuing a recent statement, the Thai embassy said visitors from Nepal aspiring to visit Thailand must file online applications using the e-Visa platform at www.thaievisa.go.th.

The press release added that applicants can deposit the visa fee at any branch of Global IME Bank within the Kathmandu Valley and request for a ‘Manager’s Cheque’, which must then be submitted to the embassy from 09:30 to 11:30 hrs during working days.


The embassy added that they stopped accepting in-person visa applications from 23 December, 2024 and suspended visa submissions from 24 to 31 December 2024 during the transition period.
