NEPALGUNJ, Sept 20: The risk of COVID-19 is still not over in Banke district. Despite the decrease in the number of cases related to contagious diseases in the past few days, the situation has not changed much in the district.
As many as two people succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday night at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj. The deceased were residents of Banke and Dang districts.
A total of 332 residents of Banke district have died of COVID-19 so far. Likewise, 414 residents of the adjoining districts who arrived in the Banke district for treatment also succumbed to COVID-19.
With the government’s decision to ease the prohibitory orders and expedite vaccination drives across the country, movement of people has increased. Businesses, schools and public spaces are open to the public with large gatherings becoming common in recent days. Although the number of COVID-19 cases is still decreasing, it is difficult to rule out the possibility that it won't increase again any time soon.
