Ripon carded three-over 75 and finished the 54-hole with total score of four-over 220. He registered a six-stroke victory over Tanka Bahadur Karki, Sukra Bahadur Rai and Tenzing Tshiring, all three from Nepal.Tanka stood second on the count back after scoring one-over 73 on the final round to wrap with total of 10-over 226. Sukra was third on the count back after shooting a final round of seven-over 79. Tenzing finished fourth at 226 after a final round of nine-over 81.
Ripon, who started the day with a birdie on the first hole played even-par on the front nine. The Bangladeshi looked in trouble when he made double-bogey on the fifth and bogey on the sixth holes but he amended them with birdies on the seventh and ninth holes. He carded three-over 39 after taking the turn with bogeys on 10th, 14th and 15th holes.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bhutan lifted the team event trophy with the score of 302. Dechan Ugyan and Tshendra Dorji of Bhutan finished ahead of Bangladesh and Nepal.
Meanwhile, the best scorers of all three day were also awarded trophy. First round's best scorer was Sukra (74), second round's Dechen Ugyan (68) and final round's Tanka Bahadur Karki (73) received the honors.
Nepal Golf Association (NGA) also presented a token of appreciation to the members of Royal Thimpu Golf Club who contributed Rs 736,000 to the Association. The amount will be used in retrofitting houses of the caddies who have been affected by last year's earthquake.
National Sports Council Vice President and Nepal Olympic Committee General Secretary Lama Tendi Sherpa, NGA President Madhukar Yakthumba, Nepal Mountain Sports Federation General Secretary Govinda Bhattarai among others distributed prizes to the winners.
The event featured 62 amateur golfers from Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
