CHITWAN, August 5: With much awaited, Renu Dahal of CPN (Maoist Center)has been elected as the mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

She defeated her nearest rival Devi Gyawali of CPN-UML. Likewise, Parbati Shah of Nepali Congress has been elected as the deputy mayor defeating Divya Sharma of CPN-UML.
However, the official announcement is yet to be made.
