On the occasion, Constituent Assembly (CA) member Ram Kumar Bhattarai has briefed the assembly that the state has adopted the policy to remove difficulties in rendering public services to people in the northern belt. He further said the expansion of service centre would make more sense if a broader gathering of district-based lawmakers, political parties' chiefs and leaders came up with a common view to convince people that the move is just for increasing people's acess to services.
Nepali Congress Mahasamiti member Dev Prasad Timilsina, UCPN (Maoist) central member and former lawmaker Devendra Patel and CPN-Maoist central member Yubaraj Bhattarai, among others were present at the gathering.
Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike being staged in Chandranigahapur of Rautahat demanding expansion of service centre has entered nine days today. As many as 120 people have so far joined the relay hunger strike this time.
The government is turning deaf ear to the demands of the hunger strikers, said coordinator of struggle committee Ganesh Raut.
It may be noted that the government had rolled back its last year's October 14 decision to expand service centre of land revenue and survey office in Chandrapur of Rautahat after the Gaur unrest. RSS
