SC defers hearing on petition against Tik Tok ban
After receiving complaints of disturbance from devotees, the committee made the decision to prohibit recording of Tik Tok videos around Boudhanath Stupa, said Basanta Lama, Administrative Director of the Committee.
“Devotees and visitors complained that they were disturbed by loud music played while recording Tik Tok videos around the Stupa,” he added. “It is not right to record videos, disturbing people visiting the area.”
Tik Tok users have been flocking to various religious and tourist areas in order to record better videos.
The Committee has installed surveillance cameras and deployed 12 security personnel to inspect if anyone is recording such videos.
The Committee will warn and ask people to delete videos if anyone is found making such videos for the first time. If they keep defying the rule, Tourist Police will take action.
