Rain wreaks havoc in Mugu, 200 goats and herdsman missing

MUGU, July 18: A herdsman along with his 200 goats have gone missing in a rainfall-triggered landslide occurred in a forest at Chimath, Magri-1 in the district.

Of the missing goat, 20 have been found dead in the forest area whereas the whereabouts of 18-year-old Puskar Bham of Chimat Village in Magri-1 was still unaccountable, according to police.

Properties worth millions of rupees have been damaged in various places in Mugu district by the flood and landslide triggered by incessant rainfall occurring for the past four days.

Similarly, three shops at Chail at Magri VDC in the district have been swept away by the flood, incurring financial loss worth tens of thousands of rupees.

Likewise, two houses and the drinking water pipeline in Chimat village have been damaged by the landslide.

The farmland and seasonal crops of locals in Chail village at Magri-4 in the district have been swept away, shared a local Purna Bahadur Rokaya.

Locals in Chail, Panpu and Maha villages are facing problems when the flood swept away wooden bridge above Chyapne Gadh in Magri VDC. RSS
