KATHMANDU, Sept 3: Moderate rain is expected today in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, the districts affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.
Sanjiv Adhikari, a meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, said the likelihood of heavy rainfall in these areas remains low.
“Moderate rain is possible in these districts this afternoon, but the chance of heavy rainfall is low. However, one or two locations could receive heavy rain at night,” he said.

According to Adhikari, the monsoon is moderately active and more active toward the west, so significant improvement in the weather is unlikely over the next three days.
The department said monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country. The monsoon low pressure line is located slightly north of its average position in the west and around its average position in the east.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division, skies will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Some parts of the hilly and mountainous regions may receive moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
