KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The country is currently under the influence of monsoon conditions, with weather patterns indicating varying levels of cloud cover across different regions.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is being observed in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few other locations across the country as of Wednesday morning.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy. Light to moderate rain, with occasional thunder and lightning, is likely in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Other provinces may also experience similar weather in certain areas.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall this afternoon in one or two locations within Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

As night falls, the weather is forecasted to remain partly to mostly cloudy, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms expected in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces. A few places in other provinces might also experience similar conditions.

The MFD's morning bulletin has also highlighted the potential for heavy rain during the night in one or two locations in Karnali, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
