Since Jan. 6 members of Nepal Railway Employee Association and Madhesi Labour Forum-Nepal (MLFN) have been staging a sit-in.
The sorry state of physical infrastructure and "chaotic" economic and administrative situation forced the employees to resort to protest, said Rafid Kabir, president of railway unit committee under MLFN.
The striking employees have accused the general manager of misappropriating Rs. 10.38 apportioned by the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management for railway reform. They also have been demanding prompt repair of rail engines.
