KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), appeared before the Kaski District Court today (Thursday), marking his seventh court appearance.
Lamichhane has been in the custody of the District Police Office in Kaski as part of the ongoing investigation into the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud in Pokhara. His most recent 4-day detention period ended on Wednesday evening, prompting his court appearance today to determine if his detention will be extended.

If granted, this would be the seventh extension of his custody. Lamichhane, arrested in Kathmandu, has been in police custody since his arrest, with his detention extended six times previously.
Lamichhane is under investigation for a range of offenses, including cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering. He has been questioned about his involvement in fraudulent activities related to several cooperatives, such as Suryadarshan in Pokhara, Supreme Cooperative in Butwal, Swarnalaxmi in Kathmandu, Sahara Cooperative in Chitwan, and Sano Paila in Parsa (Birgunj).
