KATHMANDU, March 30 : Qatar Airways has received the ‘Airline of the Year’ award at the 2017 Air Transport Awards. Issuing a statement, the airways said that it was recognized for its innovative service, hospitality and leading product design.

“The award ceremony was held at the Latrou Residence in Ekali, Greece and the ceremony was attended by world’s leading airlines executives,” Qatar Airways said in a press statement. “We are deeply honored to be recognized as the 2017 Airline of the Year.
We take immense pride in driving our airline to be the best in the industry and to deliver our passengers an unprecedented on-board experience,” Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said in the press statement. Meanwhile, the company said that it was planning to add Chiang Mai, Dublin, Nice and Skopje, among others, to its network in 2017.
