PSC office-bearers facing parliamentary hearing

KATHMANDU, March 18: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) on Wednesday started hearing of proposed office-bearers at the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The parliamentary committee is discussing on complaints filed at the panel against recommended office-bearers of the constitution body.


A PHSC meeting on Monday had decided to start hearing of nominated PSC chairman and members from today.

The Constitutional Council on February 26 had nominated former government Home Secretary Umesh Mainali as the head of the PSC, while Brinda Hada Bhattarai, Govinda Kusum, Sripurush Dhakal, Ashok Kumar Jha, Brahmadev Raya and Srikrishna Chandra Jha as members.



As per the constitution, it is mandatory for all those recommended for the position of chief justice, justices, envoys and commissioners at various constitutional bodies to undergo parliamentary hearings.
