JANAKPUR (REPUBLICA): Minister for Internal Affairs and Planning of Province 2, Bijay Yadav, allegedly slapped Bidyanath Jha, secretary at the Ministry of Forest, Tourism and Environment at the former’s office on Sunday.
Jha said he was beaten by the minister for not selecting non-governmental organizations of the minister’s choice to implement the micro-enterprise program for poverty alleviation.

After the secretary was beaten inside the minister’s office, government staffers had staged a protest in front of the minister’s office. After the protest, the minister called police who took the secretary under custody for the obstruction.
