KATHMANDU, Sept 4: A proposal seeking consideration on the bill relating to children 2075 has been unanimously passed by the National Assembly meeting Tuesday.
Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Thamamaya Thapa, presented the proposal.
In the meeting, lawmakers Dilkumari Thapa Rawal, Radheshyam Adhikari, Bimala Rai Poudyal, Bimala Devi Alemagar, Ram Narayan Bidari and Komal Oli said as the previous bill on child rights could not encompass entire aspects of child rights, the new bill was presented.
Bills relating to Appropriation Bill passed
Responding to the queries on the bill, Minister Thapa informed the upper house that new bill has provisioned child development officer at local level, and the schemes to raise awareness on their rights and safety.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Legislation Management Committee, Parshuram Meghi Gurung, presented the Committee report on Environment Protection (First Amendment) bill 2075 in the meeting.
National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timalsina informed the meeting about the changing members in the National Concern and Coordination Committee, and Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee.
