Prez Yadav leaves for Qatar

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Monday left for Qatar on a four-day state visit. The president is visiting Qatar at the invitation of Qatar´s Emir Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani of the State of Qatar.



Vice-president Parmananda Jha, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Speaker Subas Nembang, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and senior government officials bade farewell to the president at Tribhuvan International Airport. [break]



President Yadav is accompanied by his daughter Anita, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hridayesh Tripathi, Advisor to the President Rajendra Dahal and other officials of the Office of the President and foreign ministry.



According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, a ceremonial welcome event will be held at the Emiri Diwan--Qatari Royal Palace--followed by official talks and state luncheon hosted by the Emir.



The president will also hold a meeting with the members of Nepali community in Qatar, reads the press statement.



President Yadav is scheduled to return Nepal on October 13. This is the first ever visit by the Head of State of Nepal to Qatar after the country became a federal republic.
