KATHMANDU, Oct 29: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has wished peace, happiness, prosperity and progress to all Nepali brothers and sisters at home and abroad on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1140.
In best wishes message today, President Bhandari said, "I am confident that Nepal Sambat will help increase harmony, brotherhood and mutual cooperation among all Nepalis."
President Paudel extends best wishes on Nepal Sambat
She extended best wishes among all, saying Nepal Sambat, the New Year of Newar Community, could disseminate the message of national unity and prosperity among all Nepalis.
Meanwhile, in a message of best wishes, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Nepal Sambat would encourage all Nepalis to be united.
"Nepal sambat will encourage us towards philanthropy as well as make unity among us all stronger," he said. Recalling the propounder of Nepal Sambat, Sankhadhar Sakhwa, he said that Sakhwa was declared national luminary in appreciation of his contribution to developing and promoting this calendar year. Nepal Sambat is commemorated since Sakhwa paid the debts of the poor people.
