KATHMANDU, April 15: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav opened the the 24th All Nepal Doctors´ Convention in the capital Wednesday.
At the two-day convention, doctors from Nepal and foreign countries will make presentations on the latest medical developments and hold interaction.
UML to hold district convention on January 7
Inaugurating the conference Dr Yadav stressed the need for unity among the people while shunning extremist slogans. He said pandering to parochial sentiments will pus the country towards extremism.
On the occasion, Dr Yadav felicitated former presidents duo of the Association Dr Yanta Mani Pradhan and Sachche Kumar Pahadi and former members duo Dr Kanti Giri and Dr Bhisma Raj Prasain.
During the function, the outgoing president of the Association Dr Chop Lal Bhusal handed over the presidency to Dr Kedar Narsingh KC, who was elected recently.
About 1,500 doctors from Nepal and foreign countries are participating in the conference. The conference will end April 17.
