Govt-sent docs not allowed to treat Dr KC

JUMLA, July 13: Two Bir Hospital doctors deployed by the government to look after the treatment of Dr Govinda KC in Jumla have not been able to get involved in his treatment following his refusal to be treated by doctors sent by the government. Both of these doctors have been limited to the outdoors of the hospital where they receive updates on Dr KC’s health from doctors from Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) who have been looking after Dr KC.

JUMLA, July 13: Two Bir Hospital doctors deployed by the government to look after the treatment of Dr Govinda KC in Jumla have not been able to get involved in his treatment following his refusal to be treated by doctors sent by the government. Both of these doctors have been limited to the outdoors of the hospital where they receive updates on Dr KC’s health from doctors from Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) who have been looking after Dr KC.

“We have not been able to get involved in the treatment since Dr KC has refused treatment from us,” one of the two doctors said, “Since we cannot help in the treatment, we have been requesting the doctors involved in the treatment for updates on his health condition.” He added that they will start getting involved in the treatment if the health condition of Dr KC becomes critical. The government has directed them to stay in Jumla even though they are not involved in the treatment. According to doctors of KAHS involved in Dr KC’s treatment, Dr KC may have to be shifted to the ICU any time. Complications have arisen in Dr KC’s breathing, heartbeats, and he has chest pain.
