KATHMANDU, Jan 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Gyan Chandra Acharya as Nepal's Resident Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
President Bhandari appointed Acharya as the ambassador at the recommendation of the cabinet as per Article 282 of the Constitution, according to the Office of the President.
A former Foreign Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Acharya has experience of serving as Nepal's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. He also served as Under Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States.
