Preserved vulture to be released in nature

CHITWAN, April 6: The preserved vulture is to be left free in new natural areas to increase the number of disappearing species. 


Six female vultures among others caged at Kasara in Chitwan National Park (CNP) would be released around Jatayu Restaurant area at Pithauli of Nawalparasi on April 15.

CNP Chief Conservation Officer Ram Chandra Kandel said they have come up with an idea to free vulture from cage in the open sky to preserve their existence. 


There are 56 vultures including nine recently hatched chicks at CNP Office in Kasara. The campaign to increase number of vulture was put in place in 2008. RSS
