Preparation of 3.35 Billion budget underway

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission Dr. Jagdish Chandra Pokharel said that the government has been preparing to table down the annual budget of 3.35 billion in the current fiscal year.



He warned that the country could be a failed state if the budget was not brought within mid-November.[break]



Speaking at Reporters´ Club on Friday, he said that the government is caretaker, but the country is not caretaker, so it is useless to debate on presenting the budget.



Vice-chairman Pokharel informed that the preparation of presenting the budget is undergoing to make the budget as the agent between the parties in forging the consensus.



The budget will continue the previous large developmental activities and emphasize on tourism, agriculture, unemployment and physical infrastructure development, he added.



He also opined that the new government can amend the budget in the disagreed point, which will be tabled down by the caretaker government.



"The government will face the serious financial crisis, if the budget is not formulated soon", he said, "Political parties are responsible if the country becomes failed economically."
