Prakash Saput requests not to politicize ‘Pir’

KATHMANDU

Singer Prakash Saput requested everyone not to politicize his new song ‘Pir’ released on Friday. Writing a status on his social media, Saput talked about creation and freedom but urged everyone not to politicize it.  "I am just trying to say that the system has changed on the basis of war but the situation has not changed, and there has been a distance between those warriors who once fought for equality," he wrote.

He wrote further saying that it is not possible to cover all points of view in one song, he said that he would self-criticize if the scenes placed in a symbolic way affect someone's self-esteem. Then asked to look at it from the point of view of art, he urged not to confuse a creator by inciting someone intentionally or by constantly discouraging someone.

“Don't get me wrong! Because there are so many stories to tell about our society! There are many songs to be sung. There are many questions to be asked even in the new system that you have brought,” he added.
