BANIYANI (JHAPA), July 31: Power supply to around 15,000 households was cut off after a transformer broke down here.

The residences in Gaurigunj, Dhudhe, Shivagunj, Maighar, Juropani, Baigundhura and Kamal rural municipalities plunged into darkness after problems surfaced in a transformer four days ago.

Although the authorities tried to resume power supply by installing 6/8 mva transformer, it also failed to function properly, according to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Bulochowk Sub Station Chief, Surendra Kumar Shah.

"We are working on repairing the transformer at the earliest to resume power supply," Shah said, adding "The electricity service will run within two days if the weather doesn't hamper our work." RSS
