Officials at the NEA say they are forced to cut power for more hours than notified for various reasons including sudden closure of Bhotekoshi hydroelectric project, fast receding water levels in the reservoir of the Kulekhani hydroelectric project and in the rivers feeding the run-of-the river type hydro projects.
Officials said they will publish new schedule only after they become clear how much electricity India exports to Nepal.
Nepal expects to import about 60 MW of electricity from India through Duhabi-Kataiya transmission line.
India started supplying only 35 MW from the transmission line since February 25 after the restoration of electricity towers toppled by August 2008 Koshi floods.
