Singh was among the five DIGs promoted to the posts of AIG on Monday.  AIG Singh has been receiving messages of congratulations and best wishes for her success to reach the second highest position of Nepal Police.

However, Singh is not the first officer to get appointed to the post of AIG if we include the woman officers who were promoted to the post from technical service. Dr Aasha Singh earlier served as an AIG of Nepal Police. However, she was from the technical service and such officers do not have the responsibility to oversee the day-to-day policing activities.
