KATHMANDU, June 15: The Gandaki Province Assembly has endorsed the provincial government’s policies and programs for the new fiscal year.
A meeting of the assembly held on Tuesday passed the policies and programs, which were presented by Province Chief Sita Kumari Poudel on Monday, through majority votes.
Speaker Netra Nath Adhikari announced that the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2021-22 were passed through majority votes in the 59-member provincial assembly.
The policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year were tabled by the new government led by Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel a couple of days after he assumed his office. Nepali Congress (NC)’s Pokharel was appointed the CM of the province as per Article 168 (5) of the constitution after former CM Prithvi Subba Gurung failed to secure a vote of confidence in the assembly on June 10.
The next meeting of the assembly has been called for 4PM Tuesday. CM Pokharel himself is scheduled to introduce the budget for FY 2021-22 though he was reportedly preparing to take a vote of confidence.
