With the arrest of the mastermind Chandradeep, the mystery of the Singhaniya murder is going to conclude after six years, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Pashupati Upadhyay, chief of Central Regional Police Office, said in a press meet organized at the District Police Office (DPO), Dhanusha."The murder of Janakpur's well known media entrepreneur Singhaniya had not only remained a great concern for the security bodies, but it was also a matter of public interest," he said.
According to DIG Upadhyay, the continuous efforts of whole Nepal Police at regional, zonal and district level have finally led to conclusion of police investigation into the Singhaniya's murder.
"Let's hope that all the accused in the Singhaniya murder case will be booked," he added.
Janakpur Zonal Police Office (ZPO) and Dhanusha DPO arrested five accused under the supervision of Regional Police. A special team of police apprehended the mastermind, Chandradeep, from Shreechandra's house situated at Wakil Tole in Janakpur at around 5 pm on Wednesday.
Chandradeep has also been charged with a serious of murder cases including killing of Rajendra Prasad Yadav and for his involvement in shooting at Nasim Rain and Ramsogarath during the recent Nepali Congress general convention in the district.
Janakpur ZPO chief Suresh Bikram Shah said that he will be charged with organized murder, murder attempt, trafficking of drugs, arms and ammunition.
Chandradeep is said to be one of the masterminds in the murder of Singhaniya, chairman of Janakpur Today Communications Group. He was reportedly shot dead at Shiva Chowk in Janakpur on March 1, 2010.
