BIRATNAGAR, March 16: Police in Morang have set up a four-member panel to probe the death of Constituent Assembly member Bodh Narayan Sardar. Police have set up the panel headed by Superintendent of Police Ramesh Bhattarai to calm protests launched by Nepali Congress cadres against police negligence in dealing with the motorcycle accident involving Sardar and his subsequent death.

Sardar was killed at Tankisinwari of Morang on Friday in a collision between two motorcycles, but police had failed to identify the body till Sunday. NC cadres have shut down Duhabi Bazaar, alleging that police tried to cover up the accident. Sardar’s father had noticed his son’s motorcycle at Nimuwa police post and asked the police about his whereabouts.
