Police panel to probe attack on minister

KATHMANDU, April 13: Nepal Police headquarters has formed a three-member high-level panel to probe the attack on the newly appointed Energy Minister and central committee member of the CPN (UML) Gokarna Bista.



An unidentified group had attacked Bista outside his own residence at Gongabu on Monday evening. [break]



The panel is led by chief of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) DIG Rajendra Singh Bhandari, and includes SSP Hemanta Malla, chief of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MCD), and SSP of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner´s Office (MPCO) Madhav Joshi.
