Three wives of Karan Kunwar, 24, complained with police that he left them to fend for themselves after he married for the fourth time last week. Karan had married Kushilla, a girl from Kanchanpur last week. [break]
After learning that Kunwar already has three wives, the new bride also reached the police station and complained that Kunwar duped her into marrying him, saying he was unmarried. Two of the abandoned wives informed that Kunwar married them one after another posing as an unmarried man.
According to Pushpa, Kunwar´s first wife, her husband married the two wives by posing as single. It is also informed that Kunwar´s first wife before Pushpa had eloped leaving behind a daughter.
"He continues to trick girls posing as an unmarried man and promising them a comfortable life. Wherever he goes he woos girls to marry," said second wife Laxmi. "On several occasions, we pleaded with him to top bringing more wives but he did not listen," she added.
According to Kaushila, the fourth wife, Kunwar would call her daily on her cell phone and woo her with promises of a good life. District Police Office, Kailali , informed that a search for Karan is under way as he is on the run since his wives registered complaint with the police.
