Local businessmen and financial institutions have extended financial support of Rs 500,000 to mobilize the force.
“With the help of local business people and financial institutions, we have been able to run the vehicle which has long remained idle in the garage,” said Mahesh Bikram Shah, Superintendent of Banke Police.
He said the ISS wouldn´t be deployed for other duty than for the industrial security. Police squads with separate groups of seven armed personnel has been mobilized.
Sunil Kumar Sharma, president of Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said financial support to undergo maintenance of the police vehicle was provided following the commitment from the police that ISF and the vehicles would be used only for the purpose of industrial security.
For the last few months, local business people were reeling under the threats from unknown gangs who had intensified their criminal activities through extortions and bomb detonations at business enterprises and residence of business people.
Police said arrangements for the immediate presence of ISS at the industrial estate, where around 40 industries are operating, has been made to discourage the movement of criminals.
