KATHMANDU, May 26: Police have confirmed that the improvised explosive device (IED) has been used for the explosions in Anamnagar and Sukedhara on Sunday afternoon. According to police spokesperson DIG Bishwa Raj Pokharel confirmed that the IED was used for the explosion in both areas.
According to the primary investigation, the explosions took place while transferring the explosive devices by the cadres of the Biplap-led group targeting the strike called by the group for Monday, said DIG Pokharel. Adequate numbers of security forces including Nepal Army have been mobilized in both areas for further investigation.

DIG Pokharel informed that the investigation is centered on activities of the Biplab-led group as they have called for the strike on Monday and some pamphlets have been recovered from the incident site. Nepal Army has cordoned off the areas for the investigation.
Meanwhile, DIG Pokharel has said that the local administration has tightened the security in the capital. He added that security personnel have been mobilized in both civil and uniform in Kathmandu.
