KATHMANDU, May 20: Police have arrested notorious burglar Bishnu Lama alias Kaale from Toka on Monday.
Senior Superintendent of Police at Metropolitan Police Crime Division Sahakul Thapa said that the police shot and arrested burglar Lama from Toka.
“The police were forced to open gunfire in self-defense when the burglar tried to attack the police with weapons,” Thapa said.

Lama, who sustained minor injuries, has been undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital in the capital. His condition is said to be normal.
Lama, who was on the wanted list of the Nepal Police, had been facing multiple theft charges.
He was arrested in connection with a series of theft cases reported in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley and released in 2015. Lama was accused of stealing properties worth millions from former DIGs of Nepal Police Jaya Bahadur Chand and Bishwaraj Singh at Budanilkantha area in 2009.
