KATHMANDU, March 18: Police on Tuesday arrested a person from Dhading on the charge of killing his stepmother some 18 years ago.
A team of police from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) apprehended Rana Bahadur Thapa aka Kanchha Thapa of Thakre Rural Municipality-6, Dhading.
According to CIB spokesperson Bel Bahadur Pandey, the CIB has already handed Thapa to District Police Office, Dhading, for further action. Thapa had strangled his stepmother Shaili Thapa to death following a dispute over ancestral property in February 2002. Since then, Rana Bahadur had remained absconding.
Police investigation found that Thapa had been staying at a house in Teku, Kathmandu after killing his stepmother and then made the arrest.
