Pokhara plane crash: Dead bodies brought to Kathmandu (Photo Feature)

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The dead bodies from the Pokhara plane crash that cannot be identified and are from Kathmandu and the vicinity as well as of the bodies of foreign nationals have been brought to the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The dead bodies from the Pokhara plane crash that cannot be identified and are from Kathmandu and the vicinity as well as of the bodies of foreign nationals have been brought to the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on Tuesday.


According to Yeti Airlines, among the 70 deceased, 41 were identified as of Monday evening. Out of the 70 people who lost their lives in the plane crash, autopsies of 22 bodies were performed in Pokhara and the bodies were handed to respective family members while the remaining 48 bodies including that of crew members and foreigners have been brought to Kathmandu on Tuesday via Nepal Army helicopters for post-mortem at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital at Maharajgunj.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), out of 48 bodies, 25 have been brought to Kathmandu by Nepal Army’s helicopter and the remaining 23 bodies are being brought by a second aircraft.
