KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Road upgrading will be done by stopping traffic on the Pokhara-Baglung Highway.
Pushpalal (Madhya Pahadi) highway project has started to widen the road section and speed up the construction work halting traffic on the highway.
Hetauda-Kulekhani-Kathmandu road closed for maintenance work
According to the project, every day from 11AM to 3PM and from 9PM to 1AM, the work of the project will be accelerated by stopping the vehicles. Arrangements have been made for the stopped vehicles to operate at half an hour intervals.
Under the Pokhara-Baglung highway, road upgrading is currently underway from Harichowk to Yamdipul in Pokhara. A contract has been entered into with Motidan Construction Pvt Ltd for the construction of that section.
Narayanadatta Bhandari, head of Madhya Pahadi (Pushpalal) Highway Project Office, said that 50 meters ahead of Chowari, the height of the hill towards Hemja is high, and the cutting of the hill is going on.
District Traffic Police Office Kaski has asked the vehicles to be stopped to strictly maintain their lane while stopping and driving and not to overtake when the vehicles are queued up. It has been arranged for the vehicles going toward Jaubari to use the Bridge of Nayapul and light vehicles to take the route via Bindhyabasini chowk-Sarangkot-Kaskikot to Naudanda.
